Used Cooking Oil: How To Use And Store It

Some people know that using used cooking oil is disgusting. But what you do not know is that cooking oil would not go that bad unless you would put something that would make it bad in the first place. Good used cooking oil would be great for you do not have to use a fresh batch for the ones you want to fry using your cooking oil. Although you need to remind yourself that when using used cooking oil you need to know a few things before you do so for you not to give strange tastes to the dish that you are cooking. For example, if you would use a couple of cups of oil for deep frying chicken you would have a good amount of oil left even after you have cooked chicken on it.

But the thing is that you cannot use that used oil on some dishes that would not be close to chicken. It would be best that you would use that oil in chicken as well, to avoid the cross tasting of the ones you are about to cook. Avoiding the food you are cooking to taste like chicken you just deep fried the oil with a few days ago. Also you need to make sure that you would store your used oil properly for future use as well. In keeping your used cooking oil you need to make sure that you would strain all the unwanted particles that are in the oil. Make sure that you sieve everything out that is floating in your oil. Making sure that you get it all out would really keep the oil for a much longer period of time.

If you do find ways to keep it clean it would be perfect to keep in a bottle. Using bottles would really avoid you having that oil marks on plastic containers. And you would avoid melting plastic containers as well. Speaking about melting things, you need to make sure that your used oil is cooled in room temperature before you would transfer it on a bottle container. After everything is cool you would need to transfer it on your bottled container. Once it is transferred you need to cover it up and store it up on your fridge. This would last for three to four weeks depending on the consistency of your used oil. If you have used oil that has been used for several times it would be pretty much stale the first week you store it.

But if you are storing used oil that has only been used once then this would go up to weeks in your fridge. Make sure that you store used cooking oil properly to avoid any complications in cooking in the future. Just do not forget, do not mix used oils with other oils that you have used, to avoid the taste going to everything.
